This is a genuine GU old-style copy gearbox (centre case only) for lift-lever multipoint locks commonly found on UPVC doors manufactured between roughly 1995 and 2008. Use this if your existing gearbox has the distinctive GU old-style shape (rounded corners, two visible screws top and bottom on the faceplate) and operates with a lift-to-lock handle (92mm PZ). It fits both 35mm and 45mm backset locks and has a single 8mm square spindle. Check your current gearbox: the distance from the bottom of the top screw to the top of the bottom screw is exactly 200mm. If your gearbox is the newer “ferco-style” GU case (square corners) or uses a split spindle, this is NOT the correct part. Supplied as the centre case only – hooks/rollers on the existing strips remain in the door.
