It cushions the glass, centres it within the frame, and provides a reliable seal against water and draughts. Commonly replaced when original wedges have hardened, shrunk, or been lost during de-glazing. Key specifications to assess suitability: Gasket style: Wedge type (distinct from SYS1, SYS2, or other wedge variants in exact dimensions; different from bubble gaskets for sash-to-frame sealing, flipper gaskets with fins, or E-gaskets).
